Backyard Birds - Linda Baker (vocals, acoustic electric guitar), Jean Catino (vocals, tenor ukulele), June Coha (vocals, soprano ukulele), Larry Prather (bass) and Linc Russin (mandolin) - perform their fresh blend of vocal harmonies in a wide variety of music, from Americana, rock and roll, alt-country and R&B to jazz standards, originals, and surprising songs you'll be singing all the way home. The three women’s close-knit harmonies and the band’s acoustic stylings have drawn comparisons to the music of the T Sisters and Rosanne Cash, and their discerning selection of diverse and eclectic material is unique. Their covers include songs by Richard Thompson, Anna McGarrigle, Rosanne Cash, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Sam Phillips, Leonard Cohen, the Zombies, Dan Penn and Chips Moman, the Beatles, and others.

The group’s 2020 album, Wildlife, recorded in Santa Cruz, CA, showcases their approach to lesser-known but cover-worthy songs. Wildlife features music written by country songwriter, singer and guitarist Carlene Carter, the Swedish sister folk duo First Aid Kit, country and roots songwriters Buddy and Julie Miller, Irish rockabilly/soul singer and songwriter Imelda May, classic country songwriters Ray Edenton and Don Winters, and rock and roll songwriter and guitarist Neil Young.

Since getting together in 2017, the Birds have performed at Michael's on Main, Felton Music Hall, Aromas Grange, Chaminade Resort and Spa, Davenport Roadhouse, The Food Lounge, and Bocci’s Cellar, among other venues in Santa Cruz County.
